When was the last time you talked with someone about your own wellness and received the personal attention you desire?
Have you been wanting to:
- Improve your eating habits
- Understand your body better
- Make your self-care a priority
- Feel confident in choosing and preparing better food for you and your loved ones
- Experience an increase in overall happiness in your life
Perhaps Wellness Coaching is what you have been searching for. Wellness coaching, in general, connects the dots between our daily habits and how we feel. It is the bridge between the suggestion from your doctor, best friend, mother or sister to “eat more fruits and vegetables,” learn to “chill out,” or your own desire to simply feel more alive.
I have been in the Wellness industry since 1996, when I was the organic produce manager at the lovely little natural food co-op called Tidal Creek Natural Foods in Wilmington, North Carolina where I went to college. It was here that my own journey towards creating a life that centers around making the best and most sustainable choices for my body and my lifestyle began. At this stage in my life, it was revelation that cookies could be sweeten with fruit and produce could taste so flavorful and delicious. Have you ever compared an organic carrot or banana with the conventionally grown kind? It is mind-blowing how much more taste and vitality is found in the organically grown choice.
Do you keep telling yourself that you’ll start focusing on your wellness next week? Next month? After that vacation you have coming up?
Have you been telling yourself this for far too long, and now’s the time to truly mean it?
I have stood exactly where you’re standing, and I 100% understand.
Flash back to my college years, the first time I realized that I suffered from digestive issues I was shocked. I had always considered myself a really healthy eater, after all I was rigidly vegetarian and strictly a snob when it came to the quality of the food I put into my body. How could it be that I was bloated, yeasty and had tremendous brain fog? How could it be that I ate whole grains, soybean burgers and lots of kale yet I felt lethargic and moody – all the time??? Well, it was true and luckily, I was smart enough to do some valuable research that has informed my wellness journey today, 20 years later. My favorite books at the time, the Body Ecology Diet and Staying Healthy through the Seasons, both helped me come to understand the importance of gut or digestive mirco-ecology and with honoring the natural cycles of the earth that express themselves in our own bodies. I went on to pursue massage therapy after college, but in 2012, I realized my college dream of studying nutrition and the mechanics and energetics of the digestive system, the five elements system and fermentation. Currently, I offer three ways to help you enhance your own wellness and to create a life that allows you freedom from:
